The prominent film director Emir Kusturica has come up with his assessment of the developments in South Ossetia in August last year. When visiting south Ossetia’s capital Tskhinval recently, he said that the fact that Georgia launched its aggression amid the starting Olympic Games is a very dirty production. This points to the fact that Georgia President Saakashvili’s moves are not as democratic as he normally to claim, Kusturica said. The Serbian film director wished the people of South Ossetia as long and happy life as it could possibly be, adding that he came to the republic to show his solidarity with the people who survived last year’s aggression. Emir Kusturica has come to South Ossetia to collect material for his film about the war in the Caucasus in August 2008.
