Hamas says it has joined the mainstream Palestinian movement Fatah in signing up to an Egyptian-brokered reconciliation plan. The development comes after six rounds of Cairo talks about fresh elections, a single government and a common security force. Fatah controls the West Bank, and Hamas, Gaza, after seizing power there in 2007. The internationally recognized Palestinian administration is that of President Abbas’s Fatah.
