British Airways and Iberia agree merger

The biggest air-carriers of the UK and Spain British Airways and Iberia have agreed their merger by signing a declaration of intent. According to the British company’s official spokesperson, the process is due over in 2010 to possibly result in the emergence of a European giant air-carrier, second only to Germany’s Lufthansa. The new company will boast a fleet of 419 aircraft to fly to 205 destinations.
