Colombia volcano erupts: people evacuated

Over 1,000 people were evacuated and traffic was stopped after the Galeras volcano erupted in southern Colombia. The Galeras volcano, which rises in the Andes mountain chain to an altitude of more than 4,000 meters, has erupted several times since it was reactivated in 1989.
