Russia’s First Lady touts Orthodox women forum
Addressing the first all-Russia forum of Orthodox women on Thursday, Russia’s First Lady Svetlana Medvedeva urged full-fledged collaboration between the state, the Church and citizens in addressing an array of pressing domestic issues. In that sense, Medvedeva pointed out, the Thursday forum could add greatly to improving the demographic situation and promoting the institution of family and patriotism among the younger generation. Medvedeva voiced hope that Russia’s Orthodox organizations would continue to contribute to the country’s economic recovery in the coming months.
