| Dec 4, 2009 12:56 Moscow Time |
Russia and the United States are putting the finishing touches to a new nuclear arms reduction treaty to replace Start 1, which expires on December 5. But a diplomatic source in Moscow told Interfax news agency the talks may continue for a few more days. On Monday Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov will be meeting in Moscow with US Undersecretary of State Ellen Tauscher to discuss arms control and international security. Russia and the US want to almost halve the present number of their nuclear warhead and their carriers.
