11 Nepalese villagers killed by elephant

Wildlife managers in southern Nepal have so far failed to track down and restrain a wild elephant who killed 11 villagers in a two-week rampage. Local authorities are seeking help from the government in Kathmandu. Environment and forestry officials there have powers to authorize exemptions from a national ban on killing elephants.
