More than 20 thousand residents of the central Albay province in Philippines left their homes for fear of Mayon Volcano, which experts predict may erupt within the next few days or weeks. The potential danger zone 350 kilometers of the capital Manila has been put on third-level emergency alert. Mayon is the most active of Philippine volcanoes. Its most devastating eruption was reported on February 1st 1814, when streams of lava hit the city killing more than one thousand people.
