The Bezymianny volcano on Russia’s Far Eastern Kamchatka Peninsula is spewing ash at what appears to be the start of a new eruption. Locals are advised to stay indoors for fear of inhaling this hazardous stuff. Observing scientists report difficulty estimating the height of the ash cloud. The previous eruptive period on Bezymianny was over a year ago.
