Russia’s proposal for a new European security pact is hardly topical, NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen said at a press conference in Moscow on Thursday. There are already many documents in this sphere and a new one is unnecessary, he said. At the same time, he thinks President Dmitry Medvedev’s initiative to conclude a new treaty on European security can be discussed by the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe which comprises 56 nations.
