NATO poses no threat to Russia, the organization’s Secretary General, Anders Fogh Rasmussen, said during a press-conference in Moscow. Mr. Rasmussen arrived in Russia for a three-day visit to discuss a wide range of security issues, including Georgia’s bid to join the alliance and NATO`s eastward expansion plans. The NATO Chief said Russia and the alliance see eye-to-eye on the issues of sea piracy, terrorism and counteraction to the development of weapons of mass destruction. However, Mr. Rasmussen said the alliance won`t make a compromise with Russia on principal issues. NATO has also asked Russia to provide helicopters to Afghanistan and help train Afghan forces.
