NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen has called for full-fledged cooperation between the alliance and Russia, embracing all spheres of common security. Meeting with the Russian State Duma Speaker Boris Gryzlov in Moscow on Thursday, he said he hoped his visit would open up a new chapter in NATO-Russian relations. Mr. Rasmussen mentioned three important cooperation documents agreed three weeks ago. He believes Afghanistan should be a key element of this cooperation in 2010.
