| Dec 17, 2009 15:37 Moscow Time |
The coldest place in the solar system is on our Moon. The Diviner radiometer installed on NASA’s Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter registered temperatures of up to minus 249 degrees Celsius inside the permanently shadowed craters at the moon’s south pole. With day temperatures near the equator rising to plus 127 degrees Celsius, conditions on the Moon are extremely harsh.
