Climate summit results modest - Medvedev
| Dec 19, 2009 20:50 Moscow Time |
President Medvedev has described the outcome of the climate summit in Copenhagen as fairly modest. As he shared his impressions of the summit at an informal meeting with presidents of Kazakhstan, Belarus, Armenia, Kirghizia, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan in an Almaty suburb, Dmitry Medvedev said the participants in the climate conference had exerted painstaking effort to put together a draft to improve the environmental situation and prevent environmental damage. The participants in the climate summit passed the so-called Copenhagen Accord without putting it to vote. The draft was approved by the United States, China, India, South Africa and Brazil. No political declaration was passed.
