Russia weapons sales exceed $8.5 bln in 2009

 Russia has sold weapons worth more than $8.5 billion in 2009, the head of the Federal Service on military and technical cooperation Mikhail Dmitriyev said Tuesday. He did not give any comparisons but said that the arms exports this year had exceeded the exports of 2008. Dmitriyev said that Russia has military production orders worth more than $40 billion on the books.
