The governor of one of the Southern regions in Colombia Caquet Luis Francisco Cueliar has been murdered by guerillas. He had been held hostage in his own home in Florence since Monday evening. Patricia Vega, interim governor, reported that the politician’s body had been found. During the attack on Mr. Cueliar’s home, one policeman was killed. The attackers had regular army uniform on. The main version followed up by investigators is that the group were militants of the “Colombian Revolutionary Armed Forces” radical leftist movement.
