Russia hails North Korea's plan to resume six-way talks

North Korea’s agreement to resume the six-way talks on its nuclear programme is an important development of the outgoing year, says the deputy Russian Foreign Minister Alexei Borodavkin. He feels that the IAEA should also get involved in the problem as a consultative body. Borodavkin stressed nonetheless that until Pyongyang rejoined the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty, any fully-fledged nuclear cooperation for peaceful purposes with the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea was out of the question.
