UN’s ban on nuke supplies to Iran should stay, Moscow says

The requirements of the UN's Security Council resolution, which bans supplies of any nuclear materials to Iran should be observed by all countries, Foreign Ministry spokesman Andrei Nesterenko said Thursday.  He said that in Moscow is now checking the information on Kazakhstan's plans to supply of 1,350 tons of uranium ore worth $450 million to Iran.

Earlier Associated Press reported that Iran was close to signing a deal to import purified uranium ore from Kazakhstan for the needs of its nuclear program. According to this document, the two states have clandestinely agreed on supplies of more than 1,000 tons of ore. The deal was to be closed in a few weeks.
