Israel will not clinch peace with the Palestinians unless this contains a clause for eternal Israeli possession of the Ariel Jewish settlement in the West Bank area. Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu reiterated this three times on Friday on visits to three West Bank settlements, including Ariel. In the latter, the biggest one, he took part in a televised tree-planting ceremony.    The Palestinians reject peace talks as long as Israel continues its settlement activity. An end to Israeli presence on occupied Arab land is also a demand in resolutions of the UN Security Council and in the roadmap peace plan from the Middle East mediators Russia, the United States, the United Nations and the European Union.
