Toyota recalls 7 million of its cars

The Japanese giant carmaker Toyota is recalling 7 million of its cars worldwide, more than it managed to sell throughout 2009. The reason is a gas pedal malfunction. 5.5 million Toyota cars have already been recalled in the US and Canada and 1.8 more will be summoned back from EU countries, Russia, Turkey and Israel. Such serious financial blows coupled with the global recession can undermine Toyota’s leading positions on the market, experts believe.
