 NATO believes the year 2010 in Afghanistan will see intensified fighting but also the start of a programme to hand over security control to the Afghans.  Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen was speaking about this at an informal gathering of NATO defence ministers in Istanbul Friday.  He also said NATO must secure a terror-free future for Afghanistan.
