Afghanistan to transfer security to local authorities

Security in Afghanistan will be transferred  to local authorities beginning from this year,  NATO Secretary the General Anders Fogh Rasmussen  stated at an informal  meeting of Defense Ministers  of NATO member states in Istanbul. He said that this year will be difficult due to more armed conflicts with militants. Still, the future of terrorist-free Afghanistan will become clear Rasmussen said.  NATO will provide for the safety of this future, Mr. Rasmussen promised.
