The head of Russia’s Duma Foreign Affairs Committee Konstantin Kosachev  called Iran’s intention  to enrich its uranium to 20 percent on its own “a step back”. Last October during the Geneva talks, Iran’s representatives reaffirmed their readiness to enrich uranium outside Iran as it was proposed by the IAEA.«  Now Tehran’s decision is out of the common strategy », - Kosachev said.  The first deputy-head of the Duma Foreign Affairs Committee  Leonid Slutsky said that Irans’ decision,  on which it officially informed the IAEA on February 8th, can only be  regretted. As a result, according to the deputy,« this  opened way for the supporters of sanctions against Iran» , instead of talks between Tehran and the international mediators. The US and France stated their intention to jointly work out sanctions against Iran in the UN Security Council on February 8th.
