Rosatom to build NPP in Vietnam
| Feb 9, 2010 09:31 Moscow Time |
Russia’s state nuclear corporation Rosatom has won a tender to build a nuclear power plant (NPP) in Vietnam – a first such facility to be installed in the Asia-Pacific region, a Rosatom spokesperson said on Tuesday. He cited Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Zung as signaling his country’s readiness to cooperate with Rosatom despite Japan’s persistent push for participating in the project. The construction of the NPP’s two power units is slated for later this year, the spokesperson said.
