Iran has got down to enriching uranium to 20%. State television says in a report that work to that end began on President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s orders earlier today at the Natanz nuclear centre in the presence of IAEA inspectors. On Monday Iran officially notified the International Atomic Energy Agency of its plans to resume uranium enrichment to meet the needs of the Tehran research reactor. The statement caused the IAEA’s concern and drew scathing criticism from the western nations. The Untied States, the UK, France and Germany have again pointed out the need for imposing more sanctions on Iran.
