Lavrov, Clinton discuss START, missile defence and Iran

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has had a telephone conversation with the US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to discuss the START talks and preparations for the forthcoming nuclear security summit, due in Washington in April. The parties to the conversation also took up US plans for deploying missile defence system elements in Eastern Europe, the situation around Iran’s nuclear programme, and spoke at length of promoting relations with Latin American nations. Lavrov and Clinton, besides, exchanged views on other issues of mutual importance.
