President Dmitry Medvedev has offered congratulations to the Voice of Russia’s prominent political analyst Valentin Zorin, who turned 85 on Tuesday. Medvedev praised Zorin’s considerable contribution to modern-day journalism, notably calling him one of the county’s most prominent political scientists.  Also an academician and laureate of the Soviet and Russian State Prizes, Zorin added substantially to creating the Moscow-based Institute for US and Canadian Studies. As a journalist, he has had   interviews with many noted politicians, including Charles de Gaulle, Indira Gandhi, Margaret Thatcher and Helmut Kohl. Right now, Zorin hosts the Voice of Russia’s How It Looks From Moscow program.
