Putin in Tatarstan to oversee Sollers-Fiat joint venture

Russia’s Prime Minister Vladimir Putin is in the city of Naberezhnye Chelny (Tatarstan) on Thursday to oversee the signing of a $3.3 bln joint venture between Sollers and Fiat automakers that will produce nine car models with the plant’s annual capacity of 500,000 cars. The KAMAZ plant is expected to sign an agreement on strategic cooperation with German Daimler AG Corporation. Mr. Putin will also meet the KAMAZ-Master team, a nine-time winner of the Dakar rally.
