Toyota speeds up repairs for recalled cars
Toyota is speeding up pre-emptive repairs for all its cars recalled over brake and accelerator problems, the company said in a statement on Wednesday. More than 8 million Toyota cars were recalled in the past 6 months because of problems linked to faulty pedals, among them the Sai petrol electric hybrid and the elite Lexus model. The U.S. Traffic Safety Administration complains of dozens of fatal accidents involving Toyotas. Until recently, Toyota cars were considered to be the safest in the world.
