Central Moscow has seen a demonstration by anti-tobacco and anti-smoking activists histrionically dressed as Death. They shouted demands for tough government action as well as kind media persuasion. Smoking afflicts two thirds of this country’s men and one third of its women. A third of a million die every year from smoking-related illnesses.
