Russia figure skater Evgeni Plushenko,
who won "silver" at the Olympics in Vancouver, will stay in sports to
compete in the 2014 Games in Sochi. He stated this in an interview with the Canadian
television channel C-T.V. "I would like to continue to compete and want to
participate in the Olympics when they come Russia, and that is exactly what I
am going to do." - said the Olympic champion in Turin. Plushenko has
repeatedly stated that the current system of judging unfairly "penalizes"
skaters for risk.” Therefore American Evan Lysacek was able to sneak off with
the gold medal in Vancouver, having not even attempted to do a quadruple jump, which
for the American is an impossibility. Russia’s Plushenko on the contrary, in both
programs made a cascade of quadruple and triple jumps, but was unjustifiably awarded
only second place.
