Accoridng to the MAAN news agency, the Governors in question are to head the city administrations of Gaza, Khan-Yunis and Rafah. According to one Governor, the move is a result of the ongoing Egypt-mediated inter-Palestinian dialogue. The arrival to power of the HAMAS movement in the Gaza Strip split the Palestinian Autonomy in two in 2007. The FATAH movement leader Mahmoud Abbas remains in charge of the West Bank.
