No threat of swine flu epidemic in Russia – Onishchenko
| Feb 24, 2010 15:56 Moscow Time |
Chief epidemiologist Gennady Onishchenko said on Wednesday that there is no current threat of the swine flu epidemic in Russia, which saw an outbreak of the disease late last year, when the A/H1N1 flu cases were not uncommon all across the country. This is a far cry from what the situation is like now, Onishchenko said, calling for more preventive steps to shun a potential second wave of the swine flu. People should stick to medics’ recommendations and healthy lifestyle in the face of a possible second wave of the disease, Onishchenko said.
