Parliamentary elections held in Tajikistan

The parliamentary elections have been held in Tajikistan. Unlike the previous elections in 2005 the new election went smoothly without any scandals, an official with the Central Election Commission said. According to him, the representatives of all 8 political parties registered in the country took part in the election and more than 90% of the electorate cast their votes.  The elections were supervised by international observers including Russian monitors.
