The executive of the Palestine Liberation Organization has mandated President Mahmoud Abbas to re-enter mediated peace talks with Israel. The Palestinian Communists say they and several other factions voted against the motion. Outside the PLO, the Gaza rulers Hamas stay vehemently opposed to talking with the Israelis.    The dialogue was suspended over a year ago when Israel moved troops to Gaza. The main obstacle to rekindling it  is Israel’s policy to settle more and more Jews on occupied Arab land.
