| Mar 8, 2010 09:45 Moscow Time |
North Korea's army put its soldiers and reservist on high alert on Monday, hours after the US and South Korea kicked off their annual military drills that Pyongyang has slammed as a rehearsal for an attack. Earlier, Pyongyang said that it was abandoning efforts towards nuclear disarmament in response to the two’s war games and would be free to build up its nuclear forces. It said all military talks with the United States and South Korea would be suspended during the exercises, which involve 38,000 servicemen.
