The US is plannning to deploy a battery of the Patriot surface-to-air anti-missile systems in Poland by the end of next month, Commander-in-Chief of US armed forces in Europe, Admiral James G. Stavridis has announced. Speaking in Congress on Tuesday, he said that Washington and Warsaw “are signing the last Memorandums of  Understanding” that have to do with Patriot deployment in Poland. However, the Admiral didn’t say what kind of battery – combat or exercise – it would be. Admiral Stavridis said he supports the idea to include Russian radars into the US European anti-missile system. He believes it would let the US  detect rocket launches at an earlier time. Besides, said the Admiral, it would help US and Russia to trust each other more.
