Russian rockers make splash in Washington
| Mar 10, 2010 14:27 Moscow Time |
Wednesday saw a breath-taking gig of Russia’s legendary rock band Nautilus Pompilius in Washington – part of the group’s protracted tour to the United States. The audience specifically appreciated frontman Vyacheslav Butusov singing what many call the group’s ever-lasting hit that heaps praise on the American way of life. Created back in 1987, the Farewell Letter song made on Wednesday a splash among local fans, who also hailed the Russian band’s other hits. Asked about his current attitude to the United States, Butusov welcomed the ongoing Moscow-Washington rapprochement, particularly urging the strengthening of what he dubbed fraternal ties between the two nations.
