Russia is ready for expanding cooperation with broadcasters in former Soviet republics. As he addressed a conference on broadcasting cooperation with the CIS countries, President Medvedev said broadcasts in Russian will come helpful to many Russian speakers who live or work in post-Soviet republics. And Russia, he said, is prepared to let TV broadcasters from CIS countries into its territory on condition it can enhance the existing broadcasting potential and restore what was lost. Dmitry Medvedev expressed concern over restrictions on broadcasting in Russian in a number of CIS countries and the arrival of foreign media, who rapidly build up their presence on post-Soviet space.
