OSCE officials to attend regional elections in Russia on March 14

The representatives of the Office for democratic institutions and human rights of OSCE (Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe) will attend the regional elections in Russia on March 14, ITAR-TASS reported Thursday citing Igor Borisov from the Central Election Commission. Borisov said that the representatives of OSCE will attend voting station in the city of Ryazan to assess the functioning of electronic voting system. Borisov said that the representatives of OSCE will have a guest status, not the status of international monitors. The number of monitors at the elections may exceed 100,000 people, he added. On March 14, the Deputies into 12 legislative (representative) state bodies will be elected in 76 regions of Russia.
