Rubin Kazan held Germany’s Wolfsburg to a 1-1 home draw on Thursday in their first game of the Europa League 1/8 finals. Rubin became the first to score after its Ecuadorean midfielder Christian Noboa put the hosts in the lead with a 29th minute  close-range header. The Germans equalized in the second half  when Zvjezdan Misimovic, the Bosnian international, fired  a beautiful shot from the edge of the area Rubin goalie Sergei Ryzhikov simply had no chance to parry. The second game will be played March 18 in Germany.
