Russia and India may cooperate in the sphere of lunar scientific research, which will become a priority of the two sides’ space partnership, Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said at a press-conference in Delhi. He reminded that Russia and India have been successfully cooperating in this area, going beyond the launches of Indian satellites by means of Russian missile carriers. The two countries intend to start implementing an ambitious project on sending an Indian astronaut to space, Putin said. Another sphere to be developed by Russia and India is space information gathering of the Earth, which seems to be extremely important in solving ecological problems, as well as exploration and rational use of mineral resources, the Premier emphasized.
