A mall in Louisiana has come under fire for selling black Barbie dolls for half the price of their white counterparts. Someone uploaded a photo of the black Barbies priced at $3.00 next to the white ones at $5.93. "The implication of the lowering of the price is that's devaluing the black doll," said Thelma Dye, the executive director of the Northside Center for Child Development. The mall said the black Barbie was reduced for clearance due to less demand. According to polls, black girls in the US buy white Barbies more.
