Russia has advised the United States to mind human rights at home and eradicate xenophobia, illegal surveillance and child abuse on American territory. A Foreign Ministry statement about this follows a State Department report in which the Americans heap unfair accusations on Russia. It speaks about deliberate American bias on human rights issues and sees no difference with the time when George Bush was in charge, and the resetting of relations has not even been heard of. The Russian side also suspects domestic American politics behind the report. Among other things, the statement mentions numerous instances in which neglect and abuse at the hands of American foster parents led to the death of adopted orphans from Russia.
