South Ossetia has qualified reports by Georgian media about an attack on  Nikozi village from South Ossetia as the beginning of new provocations to be carried out by Georgia in connection with another round of Geneva discussions on March 18th. Georgia’s media reports claim that the village of Nikozi in the Georgian-Abkhazian conflict zone came under fire on the night from Friday to Saturday. The South Ossetian representative for post-conflict settlement Boris Chochiev told Interfax on Saturday that Georgia’s President Mikhail Saakashvili did not rule out a new war in the South Caucasus as he spoke in the Royal Institute of International Relations in London recently. Chochiev said it was a clear sign that Georgia was getting ready for a new war. The village of Nikozi has been visited by EU observers.
