Kamchatka hosts Beringia sled-dog race

The Beringia International sled-dog race begins in Kamchatka on Sunday. The 950-km long race is divided into 15 legs, its route passes through 12 towns and villages of Kamchatka Krai. This year, 17 mushers will compete for the Prize of Kamchatka Krai Governor – off-road vehicle UAZ Patriot; the second and the third – a snowmobile and outboard engine, respectively. The first Beringia sled-dog race was held in Kamchatka in 1990.
