Success of Russian athlets at IAAF in Qatar

At IAAF World Indoor Championships in Doha, Qatar, Russian high Ivan Ukhov won gold taking 2.36 m height. His compatriot Yaroslav Rybakov won silver taking 2.31 m, while US jumper Dusty Jonas is the third with the same result.

Russian Maria Savinova won gold in the 800meteres run showing the fastest time 1m 58,26 seconds.

Russians Svetlana Pospelova, Natalya Nazarova, Xenia Vdovina and Tatyana Firova won silver in 4 x 400 meters relay. Their time is 3 minutes 27,44 seconds. The US team won gold.

The performance by Russian champion Elena Isinbayeva disappointed Russian fans failing to take her initial height of 4.75 meters. However another Russian high jumper Svetlana Feofanova who had always been overshadowed by Isinbayeva had a chance to distinguish herself.
