A Yemeni air raid against a "terrorist cell" in the southeast of the country has killed two senior Al-Qaeda members, the defense ministry said in a statement early Monday. The air strike happened in the Abyan province around 500 kilometers southeast of the nation’s capital Sanaa. The two operatives reportedly plotted terrorist attacks against the country’s strategic installations. Yemeni authorities have intensified their campaign against the country's Al-Qaeda branch since the end of last year when the government forces launched a major offensive against the extremists killing and taking prisoner dozens of terrorist activists.
