European countries combine in crackdown on crime

Six European countries are conducting an operation to fight crime on Monday, Spain’s El Pais newspaper reports. According to the paper, 69 people were arrested, 24 of them in Spain. The majority of suspects come from Georgia. The Spanish press says the operation is directed against the so-called Russian mafia which often features criminals from the post-Soviet territory.
