Russian man Kiril Mikhailov took gold in a Monday 20-kilometer cross-country skiing event for athletes with spine problems at the Paralympics. Norwegian Nils-Erik Ulset took silver and bronze went to Russia’s Vladimir Kononov. In the similar event for people with sight impairment, Russian Viktor Polukhin snatched silver with Canadian Brian McIver winning gold. Vasily Shapstyaboy of Belarus came third. Russia is currently rated first at the Paralympics. Its total medal count is at 13 of which 5 are gold, 5 are silver and 3 are bronze.
